Welcome Our New Team Member!

by Candis Dorsch

Hello Friends,

As we wrapped up the summer season and gear up for fall and football, I am thrilled to announce that I have added Margaret Asay my Sales and Marketing team.  Previously with industry leading firm Big Sky Brokers of Helena, Margaret has been a wonderful (and much needed) addition to the team.

Margaret was raised in Red Lodge, Montana, and attended Montana State University Billings.  Margaret and her husband Bryan have raised five children -- all of whom now live and work in Bozeman. Margaret and Bryan have traveled many places in the world for humanitarian efforts and training leaders.

What I especially love about Margaret is her collaborative approach to real estate: like me, she is committed to team work, networking and connecting people to the best resources.  She is energized by helping people and that is evident when you first meet her.

Our office is known for its integrity, diligence and innovation.  You can expect no less from us in the days ahead.  We will continue to stay ahead of the curve in the real estate trends and technology.. I invite you to call our office and stop by to visit with us.  Come on in and meet Margaret!

Best regards,

Candis

Don't Let The Thieves Play, Whilst You're On Holiday!

by Candis Dorsch

Like most people, I am dreaming of my next family vacation and months ahead, I find myself all wrapped up planning every detail of my coming holiday.

Caught up in the exuberance, it's easy to forget about one important thing - and that is securing your home, so that you can enjoy your time away knowing that everything will be safe and sound upon your return.

Here are some suggestions to help you go away in peace, knowing that you will find your home just as you left it:

  • Share your departure plans with your friendly neighbours, so they can keep an eye on your home, monitoring any suspicious activity
  • If possible, give your neighbours or house-sitter the name and telephone number of the Hotel or Resort you're going to stay at
  • Notify your Alarm Company
  • Suspend your Post Delivery and any Newspaper Delivery
  • It's easy to be elated at the thought of going away, but try to refrain from publishing your holiday plans on Social Network Sites
  • Give a friend or a relative your spare key, or remove it from it's usual hiding place
  • Use timers on various lights or appliances to create the impression that you are at home
  • Lock every door and window, and double check it, before setting the alarm
  • Call your bank and let them know the country or countries you are traveling to, and avoid the embarrassment of having your card declined whilst trying to use it abroad
  • Create an inventory list for items of value, and take pics in case you need them
  • Your local bank may offer you the facility of a temporary safe deposit box for your irreplaceable jewellery & belongings
  • Don't forget to adjust your thermostat and check all the faucets
  • Switch off the TV and other electronic equipment that can be damaged through unexpected power surges
  • Arrange for someone to take care of your lawn and garden
  • Think about possibly disconnecting the garage door opener

It's wonderful to enjoy a well-deserved holiday, and even better, is great to be back to the place you call "home, sweet, home" and find it just as you have left it.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Log Homes

by Candis Dorsch

It wouldn't be Montana without the picture-perfect log homes you see when visiting our magnificent State. Home buyers fall in love with this style of home, and it's important to have the knowledge required to properly maintain these buildings for long-lasting, hassle free ownership & enjoyment.

If you are looking to purchase a log building or you already own one, we have identified a couple of Montana companies that specialise in training courses for both construction and the restoration program.

You can pursue the dream of building your own log home, and the log-home specialists are offering ongoing support and advice well after your project is completed.

If on the other hand you are short of time, or perhaps not handy with carpentry tools, you can purchase already made shells or custom-made homes.

It always pays talking to experts when choosing the right building for you- as you well know, there are a number of log cabin styles, which in turn have different maintenance requirements.
For more information on log home building & maintenance, please refer to our local resources page for continuous updates:

Montana, a wondrous place to call home

by Candis Dorsch

I have lived in Montana for most of my life, and I am still fascinated by the magical scenery that surrounds us here.   Visitors are captivated by the beauty of nature. No wonder why so many never want to leave and why so many native Montanans want to return home to live in Montana.

Many of my clients are from out of state or abroad, and it is refreshing to hear their enchantment with regards to the quality of life and stunning scenery of the Gallatin Valley, and Montana.

Better still, it allows me to look at my native State with a fresh pair of eyes. I know how lucky I am to live in Montana, and I also know that here, I am home.

Here are some photos that I would love to share with you!

Despite the fact that winter doesn’t want to let go just yet, Montana’s Gallatin Valley real estate market is buoyant, nicely surprising for this time of the year!

Driven by the pent-up Buyer demand for Bozeman and Belgrade homes, our housing inventory is currently extremely low.  We are in need of homes to sell NOW.   If you’ve been thinking of putting your home on the market this spring or summer, NOW is the right time to call me for a real estate market evaluation!

As a potential Buyer, you’ll also reap the benefits of  the current low interest rates.  The general consensus for housing is that 2014 & 2015 will see increases in interest rates and rental rates, especially in Bozeman, MT.   This is the time to make the move you’ve been waiting for!

Please email me, give me a call, or visit my website, to request your free market evaluation or to chat about your selling or buying desires!
